Mintwood Back to the forest

How the forest works

Every tree is a coin on Robinhood Chain. Plant one on an open plot and it grows, or withers, with its market cap.

Draft. The forest is running on made-up data and nothing on this page is live yet. The contract addresses below will be filled in before launch.

Planting

  1. Press Plant a tree and choose any ringed plot.
  2. Give your coin a name, a ticker and a picture. Add a first buy if you want one.
  3. Approve one transaction. It pays the plot's toll, launches your coin on Pons and makes your first buy.
  4. Your seedling appears as soon as the chain confirms it.

Your coin is an ordinary Pons coin. It trades on Pons' bonding curve, graduates into a Uniswap pool like any other, and you keep full control of your tokens.

Plots and tolls

AreaTollWhere
Heartwood0.05 ETHThe first ring around the Glade
Riverbank0.015 ETHAlong the water
Wildwood0.002 ETHEverywhere else
Old Grovenot for saleThe north-east corner

The toll buys $SEED and burns it in the same transaction as your launch, so the supply only goes down. While $SEED is on its Pons curve the toll buys there; after it graduates, from its Uniswap pool. The forest never holds it. A plot holds one coin, and trees are never cut down or moved.

How trees grow

A tree's height follows its market cap. Every doubling adds the same height, so the scale is fair to small and large coins alike. Along the way a tree passes seven stages:

StageFrom
Seedlaunch
Sprout$6K
Sapling$20K
Young tree$75K
Mature$300K
Elder$2M
Ancient$20M

Coins that have graduated from the curve carry a lantern. A coin under $4.5K that sees no trade for 12 hours drops its leaves. A single trade brings them back.

Creator fees: 80% to you

Pons pays a share of every trade's fee to the coin's fee recipient, on the curve and after graduation. For forest coins that recipient is a splitter contract. It passes 80% to the wallet that planted the coin and 20% to the forest. The split is set when the coin is created, and the splitter has no function to change it.

Pons' own multisig can reassign a coin's fee recipient after a public 3-day notice. We watch for that notice and will post it in the forest log if it ever happens.

Trading

Open any tree to buy or sell its coin, straight from your wallet. On the curve the trade goes to Pons itself; after graduation it goes to the coin's Uniswap v4 pool through Uniswap's own Universal Router. Selling a graduated coin the first time asks for two approvals (the coin to Permit2, then Permit2 to the router). The forest adds no fee and never touches your funds.

The Great Oak and $SEED

$SEED is the forest's own coin. Its tree is the Great Oak in the Glade, on the same height scale as every other tree. Every toll burns some $SEED. Burning promises nothing about price.

Old Grove

The Old Grove holds coins that were trading on Robinhood Chain before the forest existed, so the woods are not empty on day one. We place them there ourselves. They pay no toll, their fees go wherever they went before, and their teams have nothing to do with the forest.

Questions

Can I sell the coin I planted?

Yes, any time, from its tree or anywhere else. Nothing about your tokens is locked. Only the creator fee split is fixed.

Where do the creator fees come from?

Every trade on a Pons coin pays a 1% fee, on the curve and after graduation. Pons keeps 30% of it and the rest goes to the coin's fee recipient, which for forest coins is its splitter. The splitter pays 80% of that to you and 20% to the forest. Payout rounds run about every hour for any coin with at least 0.001 ETH waiting. Anyone can also trigger a payout by calling distribute() on the splitter.

Can I send my 80% to another wallet?

Yes. From the wallet that planted the tree, call setPlanter on the coin's splitter. The coin's fee recipient on Pons stays the splitter.

What if planting fails or someone takes the plot first?

Planting is a single transaction. If it fails for any reason, nothing happens except the gas you paid, and the plot stays open.

Why can I not buy a brand new coin straight away?

Pons charges a steep snipe tax for the first few seconds of every launch, so bots do not get the opening price. Your own first buy, made while planting, is exempt.

Does the forest take a cut of trades?

No. Buys and sells pay Pons' normal fees and nothing more. Your wallet sends the trade straight to Pons or Uniswap.

Why did my tree lose its leaves?

A coin under $4.5K that sees no trade for 12 hours withers. One trade brings the leaves back. Trees are never cut down.

Can my tree be removed?

No. A planted plot holds its coin for good. Only Old Grove guests, which were placed by the forest, can be moved.
